Lviv Symphony Orchestra is a new generation orchestra of highly professional musicians who strive for the best performance ever possible. Since the beginning the Orchestra has experienced an era of unprecedented artistic growth with reputation for innovative and adventurous programming.

Artistic director and a chief conductor of a group is Melani Mestre who has worked with major European orchestras such as the London Symphony, BBC Symphony, Rumanian Philharmonic, Moscow Philharmonic, etc.

Working together the Lviv Symphony Orchestra has built a reputation for the highest level of music excellence, a vivid energy and a refreshing sense of warmth and wit.

As the orchestra with Ukrainian musicians and Spanish conductor, Lviv Symphony Orchestra enchants audiences with a remarkably broad repertoire. A baroque love of live and classical-romantic concert literature are as equally at home as are the challenging works of contemporary composers.

An amazing diversity and love of experimentation under the inspired musical direction of conductor Melani Mestre Lviv Symphony Orchestra makes each and every concert an original experience.

For 2008 and 2009 Lviv Symphony Orchestra is residence orchestra of International Lviv Summer Music Festival “Improvizacia”.

Based in Lviv, the orchestra sees  its priority in playing world class music in its country and then comes the mission of presenting Ukrainian musical culture abroad (e.g., the orchestra has lately returned from tour in Spain where it performed at Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, Tarragona’s cathedral and Girona’s Auditorium) and was given Christmas concerts in Greece.

The spiritus movents of the orchestra is well known Spanish conductor Melani Mestre who has been working hard to keep its level appropriate to the high expectations of the audience in Ukraine and around the world.

In 2009 The Lviv Symphony Orchestra started to perform all Beethoven’s 5 Concertos   with Andrey Gavrilov  and singed the contract to play next year Rachmaninov piano concertos in tour with Andrey Gavrilov.

The Orchestra had been giving concerts with such great soloists as Oksana Rapita The Honorary Artists of Ukraine, Lidiya Futorsjka and with a great opera singers such as Oleg Lykhach The Honored artist of Ukraine, soloist  of Lviv National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Yuriy Trytsetskyy, the soloist  of Lviv National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet Larysa Zuyenko The Honored artist of Ukraine, soloist of The Odessa State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and Nataliya Datsko The National Artist of Ukraine, soloist  of Lviv National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet.

Another direction of work which The Orchestra develops is recordings of soundtracks for film music.
